Wow, it just rusted right through? I live in the desert so, I never see rust like that. However, I do see a different type of rot - interior rot. The sun is brutal on interiors here in the desert.

Race mode: ACTIVATED You took First place! Aw, now I gotta work? Sister got one run in before the engine tried to cook itself. Tomorrows job will be find out why... The PandaWagon did quite well towing my sister's wagon. In the hills I was in third and fourth gear maintaining 40-50 MPH. Flat areas I was able to hold 55 with no problems in 5th. Did wish I had a dual range tranny for getting started. Wouldn't need so much clutch slippage.

Yeah, he was bouncing all over the place. The rear struts were shot and the fronts weren't in any better shape. He bent two wheels. One was really bad and the other he managed to push back a little and was rubbing on every bump. My brother's Vette....he destroyed the lower radiator mount and lost a brake duct. Doesn't surprise me - that mount is so light, a two year old could throw it across the Grand Canyon! The green impreza also bent a wheel. FYI: Forester 15" steelies are weak! Many a air dam and side skirt were sacrificed. Oh, that stock blue WRX - he blew his engine. It didn't sound right on his second run and by his third run, it sounded VERY angry - it died at the finish line and refused to restart. The PandaWagon didn't get away unscathed - I lost two screws for the dash surround and lost the magnets holding the gas door closed. It was a day full of carnage.

Thanks Jeszek! I replaced the stock rear setup with 250 lbs/in Ground Control coil-overs for a 1st gen Impreza and Koni Yellow shocks for a 08+ WRX. It did take some drilling and filing to get it to fit, but it works well. I have very minor rubbing on the springs with the Enkei wheels and 205 tires, but no rubbing at all with the Legacy 14" wheels and 195s. Took the PandaWagon through my usual fast corner today and it hugs the road so much better. Turn-in inputs have been greatly reduced.

Rides much better. The rear now matches the front and the balance feels closer to neutral. 250 lbs/in and currently, I have the dampers set to all the way soft. I have a RallyX Saturday, will see how it handles.

Bad injector. It started acting stupid again about halfway through my arrands. Took it home and started the spark plug trick but I just flat could not find it. So, I got dangerous! I blocked the wheels, set parking brake real good, put it in drive, and redid the test. Ah ha! Cylinder 5 is the problem! Checked spark: ZAP! Ouch. Got spark! Pulled the injector connector and checked the impedence: nothing. Huh. Checked another injector: There's impedence on that one. Bingo. I swapped it with a spare injector I had and no more misfire! Whoo hoo! Wedge is going on a road trip! First one in 4 years!- What Have You Done to your Soobie lately? (Please post in here and keep it going)
Replaced the Ditsy in Wedge. Power is back, tach is back to it's normal self, no more rough idle, and my hesitation in mid-throttle is gone. All was good till my return from lunch today when the misfire returned! Idling rough, lower power, and exhaust sounds like it's missing a cylinder every time. The car was mostly warmed up when I shut it down to go get lunch. It sat for about 20 minutes and that misfire showed up right after I started it back up. I'm gonna look at it again later this evening, but this is going to be a challenge to find the cause since it appears to be temperature related. At least the jumping tach and the hesitation at part throttle are gone.- What Have You Done to your Soobie lately? (Please post in here and keep it going)
I was under the car tightening the exhust when I found this: I think something's missing...- What Have You Done to your Soobie lately? (Please post in here and keep it going)
Wedge has developed a jumpy tach and sounds like a WRX. ER27's aren't supposed to sound like that. Noo!!!!- The Awesome Older Generation Picture Thread

Yes, she is! It took me just over 2 months to finish the project with all the hiccups and delays I ran into. One of which was a bad rear main seal. Engine sounds good, excellent power, and better mileage.- What Have You Done to your Soobie lately? (Please post in here and keep it going)
It had a Weber 32/36 carb on it. I used that to let it grab cooler air from the fender.- What Have You Done to your Soobie lately? (Please post in here and keep it going)

Changed the oil, checked the rest of the fluid levels, and added some air to the tires in Bonnie, the 02 Outback. Sisters are taking their dogs to a show out of town so I wanted to make sure Bonnie would make it there and home again safely. - What Have You Done to your Soobie lately?
