  1. If the clunk is on the right side, do I assume that the right side is the one that needs to be replaced?
  2. When I make a right hand turn, I get this REAL LOUD clunking noise on the passenger side. It is real loud. I can kind of hear it when I drive straight. I really don't hear it on a left and turn. I replaced the rack and pinion awhile ago, which didn't change any noise issue. Based on what I've read, I think this might be a DOJ or CVJ problem??? Am I correct...should I just grease the heck out of them. I have some tears in each (DOJ/CVB), which I plan on replacing........
  3. I have been delaying moving from my 84 GL to a legacy because I am a total repair rookie and have one of those Mohn Muir Idiot's Guide to Subaru repair for 75-88 models. I get lost reading a Haynes or Chilton Manual half way though the process... are there any better repair books out there...like a John Muir gtype of guide for Legacy?
  4. My heater has slowly lost heating efficiency. Now it only heats the car when I am driving...it does not heat at idling. Is this the heater core? Or perhaps some easier issue? Any help would be appreciated
  5. thanks! I will check the voltage. And I want 400,000 out of my baby...only 140,000 miles left to go!
  6. I have an 84 4WD wagon (1.8) and am looking to replace the foglights. Can I just use any old fog light out there? My lights are real dim, so I would like ideas on the brightest ones possible. Can I just snip the existing wires near the old broken foglights and wire up the new ones (after disconnecting the battery, of course!). Any advice would be appreciated.
