  1. anyone got a pic or have a link to a pic of an ea82 strut top extension with an adjustment for camber?
  2. and if you ever change your mind I've got some thread in ice racing studs
  3. thanks, it worked, brought it down about an inch. i'll get pics tomorrow
  4. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showphoto.php?photo=4762&sort=1&cat=500&page=1
  5. it is very stiff and very rough, rides as though the suspension is topped out in the back. how do you get such large clear pics on here, every time I try to upload it tells me its too big and has to be less than 50k
  6. yeah, ea81, came off an ea81 wagon.... the screw was cranked up , I let that down all the way, that brought it down quite a bit, but its still up about an inch higher than I want
  7. from what I've seen and read , parts would be worth that
  8. is it possible to tell if the rear suspension has been clocked without taking it apart? The reason I ask is I put the same amount of lift front and rear but the rear is 2 inches higher than the front, I know that they normally sit a little lower in the front, but 2 inches is too much.... if the rear suspension has been clocked, I should be able to put it back to normal and bring the back end down ... if it hasnt been clocked, can this same method be used for lowering a car? or is the stock position as low as it will go with this method? if this will work, how do I do it? I dont want to wind up pulling somethign thats going to ruin parts, or have something fly off and kill somebody, well, except maybe that one neighbor kid, but thats a whole nother story
  9. thanks tom :] I dont know about mileage but I'll get pleny of time out of that clutch since the cars off the road again, LOL
  10. welcome, at least you wont ever have to worry about being the most annoying member, I've already got that covered
  11. the nissan clutch hub had a different offset that hit the flywheel and pushed the clutch back
  12. I am using the parts you gave me and they work great. They work with the flywheel miles gave me, but it had some burn marks, so i was trying to use the wagon flywheel and for some reason I couldnt get your clutch parts to work with the wagon flywheel, so I tried the wagon parts with the wagon flywheel, and that didnt work, but once I used miles' flywheel and your clutch parts, it worked great. Thanks Tom :]
  13. the center hub on the nissan hits the flywheel and pushes the clutch back
  14. same diameter and spline count, but the center hub offset is different
  15. can this be done? I know the brakes are better on the ea82, but what if they were shot and all you had was ea81's?
  16. @#$*(&@#$ Nissan clutch and pressure plate. I pulled them out of an ea82 I bought from a guy that told me it was the original equimpment... this is what I get for trusting
  17. OH MY GOD, LMAO see I am retarded, that was hilarious
  18. Well, I'm sorry for all the confusion the last few days, I feel REALLY stupid about the reason for it, I'm afraid to say actually. I had assumed that the guy I bought my parts car from was telling me the truth, told me the clutch was good, that he was driving on it. Well, when I assembled it all it wouldnt work, the problem you all read about. So I figured I'd try to find a number on the parts and try to trace it to make sure. Several board members said the only explanation was that I was using the wrong parts, I pulled them out of an ea82, so I figured, they were ea82, but when I went looking for a part number I found something else, the word NISSAN stamped on them instead :[ its obvious now that the car was never driven with that clutch in it. This is what I get for trusting people. This is the same guy that told me the rear struts were great and they were totally shot, told me the axles and brakes were great, but I have either a bad axle or a bad rotor on the right front, I'll get it up in the air tomorrow and find out, also told me that the pedal box was complete and I had to fabricate all the mounts for the clutch pedal. Thanks again to Tom for the pics and measurements. So the tranny is IN and functional. Thanks to Tom for the clutch and pressure plate, Miles for the flywheel and all the help, and to all of you for your patience and encouragement
  19. the clutch disc cant go in backwards, you wouldnt be able to even start the pressure plate bolts.... I'll have to get some batteries for my digital camera, but in the mean time... imagine the fingers on the pressure plate, when you are off the pedal, they point backward at an angle, when you push the pedal, the TO bearing pushes those fingers "flat" so they are all pointing toward the center intead of angled back. When you release the clutch, obviously those fingers spring back to the angled position, these don't , they are permanently flat unless you unbolt the pressure plate. Its as though the disc is too thick and its pushing the ring on the PP back and pulling the fingers in, BUT, if you put a load on it, the clutch will turn, so it cant be the disc being too thick. this is the weirdest thing ever, I've never even HEARD of anything like this. like I have an invisible throwout bearing pushing on the back of the PP
  20. the cable isnt even on, the tranny if off right now and the fingers on the pressure plate are straight just like the throwout bearing was pushing against them as far as mixing ea81 and ea82 parts I GUARANTEE I'm not, The flywheel came off an 85 wagon, so did the clutch disc and pressure plate, like I said, this happens even if its off the car, so that elimates the ea81 engine. I must have tightened it too tight, I didnt know about the 15-20 ft lbs deal, I locked them up , but the weird thing is, Miles locked them up last time and we didnt have this problem, that time it was seized on the pilot bearing, but the clutch worked normally :\
