  1. Been thinking about swapping in a factory 4.11 LSD. Differential into my 1998 Forester .How well do the factory Subaru LSD diffs work? Worth it money wise if spending under $400?
  2. Basics are power and traction then wheel travel so for me something with a turbo, dual range and lsd diffs would be a good start
  3. I started over with timing belts, installed distributer as suggested in fox video ,found I had the fuel in and return lines mixed and fixed that and she fired right up
  4. Thanks fellas, guess I'll pop those belts off in the morning and do it right
  5. I also followed the video like a dummy ,no mention of the three lines mark
  6. "The flywheel has two groups of markings. 1). Three lines for Distributor/Timing belt serve markings 2). Larger group of lines/numbers for setting the timing with a timing light." Well dang ! I set my cam gears /timing belt with the lined/numbers ........haven't been able to start it yet
  7. I'm having a similar issue , mine started out as a faint click, thought it may have been cvs going , put new axles in and now it sounds like I have rocks tumbling in the tranny on acceleration,no noise coasting or reverse. I don't think the new axle shafts are the problem,I have axle stub shaft play on drivers side and the passenger side is nice and tight.
  8. Was told it ran hot , happened about 6months ago and don't have a ton of history on it ,oil wasn't milky and looks great inside, turns smooth and no scaring of the cylinder walls, sometimes you'll see a "super" clean piston top from the water basically steam cleaning the top of the piston,I didn't see any of that and really could not pinpoint where the head gaskets seemed to fail. Gonna have the heads looked at and reseal it.
  9. Already tore down, very reputable shop already did the diagnosing, customer didn't want to fix so I bought it
  10. The first picture looks like a conversion implement for the Ac ,going from R12 refrigerant to R134 I found my motor gaskets on Amazon
