  1. great! thx for the info  do these pug wheels require a 6 lug conversion?
  2. I'm just wondering if there are any bolt-on wheels that will give me the ability to use more aggressive tread tires, or do I have to add a lift to even goto 14"? And if I can goto 14" with-out a lift, how about 15"? I guess I am just leary or up-setting the design made by subaru ... I have been very impressed with the stability of the stock design, and I wouldn't want to raise the center of gravity any more than I need to.
  3. ya ... I plan on taking a reg truck topper and fabricating the curve part in the front, looks like I found one in the local junk yard that I can modify, and it's only gonna run me $25 All I have to do is remove the front half of the front sliding side windows, fabricate the curve and then re-cut the glass on this topper for an S-10 ... just need to ask my neighbor to help me get it home with his S-10 truck
  4. I was just wondering if anyone has tried this and if they can suggest any particular type of small truck topper that might be easily modified ... I'm going to need a topper pretty soon, and can't seem to find any Gen 2 toppers in my area that are available and the Gen 1 topper I have is too narrow, and it would be a shame to modify it anyway ... Gonna head to some junk yards and make some measurements ... thanks in advance for any info
  5. Welcome! I don't have the problem of pleasing a wife yet hehe, but my ex-girlfriend was like that ... "don't buy this! don't do that!" ... part of the reason she's an ex I'm gonna have to take my brat out and see what it can do some time soon ... soon as in when I can afford the gas :-p business is kinda slow atm ... I second the oppinion of putting it on a part at a time and just don't let her drive
  6. Hmmmmmm .... does a garage full of parts I stripped offa the '83 count? I got everything of value I could in the 3 hours b4 the wrecker took it to be crushed
  7. !!!! I got that problem BEFORE I even bought the brat!! :-p I found a :snif!: '83 brat that was being given the jaws of life treatment by the local Fire Dept for practice!! It was enought to make ya cry, but once I realized I could score all the goodies off of it that I could stuff in my friend's truck I had a big smile I got lotta stuff from this '83 turbo and a topper too (gen 1 DOH!! wana trade anyone? ) from a local classic car shop before I was able to get the brat after selling my '88 Justy with 55k miles. Just wish I had access to a cherry picker that day! The odometer was only showing 120k miles .. might have been a good engine still
  8. Heya All!! I finnally got the reply from the forum so I can start posting here! I am a new Brat Addict, I have a NICE '85 stock brat (plan to keep it that way other than loosing the "herb green" paint :-p ) 88k miles, and the original owner was a mechanic that kept it in great shape, new interior just a few years ago:cool: Gonna use it for my back-flow assembly testing business, and to play with in my free time:D Great site you have here ... now if I can get a Gen 2 topper for my Gen 1 topper I will be ready to rock!
