Brat Problems with acceleraton
Don't feel bad ... I once took my chevy 350 PU to a mechanic to find out why it was loosing power and discovered that the air filter was almost black!!

Names of your Soobs
Well, I guess this is the name I WILL give my brat once it's painted black, but it will be "Little Black Monster" the grill will be replaced with one that I will design to look like a mouth with red teeth against the black should look nice

Brat Problems with acceleraton
from the sounds of it, could be classic over-rich from a dirty carb, how do the plugs look? I have never used the seafoam, but I think to really know that a carb is clean you need to disassemble it and boil it out with acid, check all the jets/circuits with a torch tip cleaner and compressed air to make sure they are flowing free ... then you KNOW the carb is truly clean

is it worth it
sad to hear about that ... it's amazing ... the lower your IQ, generally the more distructive you are ... on that note ... I SECOND the motion on the 12 GA but never mind the 00 buck shot ... I'd use rocksalt ... I'd rather they scream in pain than die

gotta look under "SUV tires" to find the 14's ... but if they are gonna discontinue them soon, maybe I should get 15" pugs hmmmmm here's the link from Cooper for the 14's http://www.coopertire.com/us/en/ProductDetails.asp?ProdType=SUV&id=28

Ok ... I found the tires and wheels I want to use ... but
I have a '85 brat and I want the best compromise of getting better off-road tire selection w/o making crazy mods and losing the great gas mileage ... I am thinking of using 14" pug wheels and going with the Cooper Discovery STT's they are P205/75 R 14's ... anyone know if these are simply a bolt on or will I have to pound on my fenders? :-\ I don't mind the Idea of pounding in the fender wells too much, just as long as I don't have to cut the outside of the fenders ... I want my brat to remain as stock as possible untill I can afford to Ozify with the 4"/3" lift kit ... Anyone been able to use this tire set-up on a stock gen 2 brat? PS ... also like to know how much this will affect the speedo/tach thx

Diesel Powered Subi?
When I learned that Subaru was part of Fuji heavy industries, I had an interesting idea. With the advent of Bio-diesel that you can basicly manufacture in your garage, why not see if there is a diesel engine made by Fuji could be made to work well in a Subi ... maybe it's just a crazy idea, but well with the $2/ gallon gas prices, it's one dream I'd love to see come true

FlyB0y replied to FlyB0y's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXYa ... I hear that ... I was born in Portland OR, but as far as I am concerned I didn't find home till I moved to Msla 7 yrs ago, then I joined the Air Force, and now after 5 years of that, I am back to stay

Rare Roo!! first time captured on film!!
FlyB0y replied to FlyB0y's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI should have done a close-up of the bead ... they have an out-board motor laying in it I agree ... and I think it's almost as ugly as the Baja ... I wish that they made the Baja like an up-dated Brat instead of something like the avalanche ... and to think that Subaru came up with that idea

Rare Roo!! first time captured on film!!
FlyB0y replied to FlyB0y's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXnaw .. I can't claim responsibility for it It's pretty interesting tho .. just had to take a pic and show you all ... they really did an amazing job ... looks like they attached the last few feet of a ford courier's bed to it ... it's not what I would do, but they did make it look factory

Any wheels I can just bolt-on my '85 brat to get better tire selection?

Any wheels I can just bolt-on my '85 brat to get better tire selection?
great! thx for the info  do these pug wheels require a 6 lug conversion?
-
Any wheels I can just bolt-on my '85 brat to get better tire selection?
I'm just wondering if there are any bolt-on wheels that will give me the ability to use more aggressive tread tires, or do I have to add a lift to even goto 14"? And if I can goto 14" with-out a lift, how about 15"? I guess I am just leary or up-setting the design made by subaru ... I have been very impressed with the stability of the stock design, and I wouldn't want to raise the center of gravity any more than I need to.

Topper for a Gen 2 Brat made from one for a small truck?
ya ... I plan on taking a reg truck topper and fabricating the curve part in the front, looks like I found one in the local junk yard that I can modify, and it's only gonna run me $25 All I have to do is remove the front half of the front sliding side windows, fabricate the curve and then re-cut the glass on this topper for an S-10 ... just need to ask my neighbor to help me get it home with his S-10 truck
