I was in the same situation last year. For peace of mind, I ended up getting a set of ironman tires for my Outback. They are not pricey, and their road performance is just fine.

I heard that the Torque app supports SSM. Is this true?

Cool. What's the size of the tires?

+1 on upgrading the suspension. It will make driving more fun.

Using an aftermarket MAF sensor is a hit and miss.

I bought a Hobart handler 140 for automotive work.

That's a cool off-road rig! Would love to see it in action.

Sounds like an electrical/wiring issue.

A 2011-13 Forester with FB25 and 4EAT would be a good choice.

Blackvue has a built-in GPS, but it is quite spendy.

Any upgrades you did on your Brat? Welcome aboard!

That's a nice wagon project. Any updates, OP?

I got a set of Conti DWS06 from 4wheelonline. Dry traction is great, and they feel planted on the road. Performance in the rain and slush is quite impressive also.

I replaced the brake pads and installed the bilstein shocks on my Outback. Ride is a little firmer now, and there's an increase in control.

I usually go to local junkyards to find the parts I need. Good luck on your project.

Thanks but I already ordered one form the dealer. Got a pretty good price on it and its rebuilt by them and sold as "new" even though he said it has technically been rebuilt, so I'm assuming (hoping) that it's pretty legit. It's originally manufactured by Hitachi for Subaru. Seemed like a pretty good bet, so I went with it.
Thanks a ton everybody for all the info!
Nice. May I know the cost?

What they said. Haven't seen chrome replacement ones on ebay.

Nice project. I'm curious about the sound of your custom exhaust.

Alright guys i got a buddh that works at a tire shop. He hepled me out and we tried on a tire see if it would fit. The tire we fitted isnt the tire i want but was the correct size. The tire was an epic tour 21570r15. In the rear the side wall clear the strut tube by 7mm and the perch has about 2 inches. With to bodies sitting kn the back i could still fit 2 fingers between tire and fender. The front i did not measure but there was enough clearance all the way around. So i know the tire size fits but every brand is slightlh different so i cant say they will all fit. I will be getting geolander in the 21570r15 so i will let u know how those fit when the time comes. Thank u all for the info
Any update on this? I'm curious if speedo will be off with 21570r15. I'm thinking of running all-terrain bfg tire or the geolander.

That's a cool project. I like the first pic.

Any update? Did you get the Brat?

Changing the exhaust only won't provide a significant hp gain unless you do other performance modifications on your car.

Yes, Sapphire blue is darker based on -- https://www.automotivetouchup.com/touch-up-paint/subaru/1987/all-models/

Could be a grounding issue also.

How's the off-road performance of the Scorpion AT Plus? I saw them on 4wheelonline while looking for new tires online. I like them because their tread design is not too aggressive.
