  1. right to cut a long story short alternator broke on my brand new engine and wond round the right hand side cam belt (the short one not the dizzy one) and stalled my engine hopefully doin no damage as ive just spent $100s getiing it done through some new belts on it and try to start it up but no spark the ecu is flashing crank angle senor is there any way of testing this sensor in the dizzy and could it be the ignitor under the coil it that was the problem would it send a problem code to the ecu.. help cheers patt
  2. hey guys i havent been on for ages been busy with my nex coupe its almost finished now got all the new engine back in man it sounds great with the lumpy cams just waiting on my new front mount intercooler and my new springs im realy wanting to get the 5 stud hubs for it but i cant get any over here in new zealand and i was wounderin if any of you guys could help me get some sent over here as soon as i can i will get some pics up of it. i love it know one know what is is. im so wrapt with it all i know is its hell fast with my smalll turbo on standard boost and no front mount i could give my friends in there wrxs a good run for there money. and also id like to thank everyone for there advise along the way u's have been great. also one more question i just had to try out the rear wheel drive its awsome but with the boost turned up it seamed to cut power in the driveline.....its in gear but it dosnt drive in any gear but 1 any help would be good... cheers patt
  3. we have got a family friend that has one of them over here in newzealand its a gold one. but im not sure if it badged up as a rx coupe i thought its was just a real early 1800 leone coupe.
  4. i was woundering if anyone over here in new zealand has got a rx coupe rear wing they want to sell or knows of someone i can get one from. any help would be much apreciated
  5. i got my rx coupe into town in the weekend and it goes mint considering it has a suspected head gasket problem but that dosnt matter as i have my new engine sitting on my bench at work almost ready to go in. just waiting on a heavy duty clutch ive taken everythink from the frontseats back out as im hopefully geting my roll cage this week. one thing ive realy enjoyed is that fact not many people know of these cars and ive taken all the full time 4wd turbo stickers off and just to see the look on there face as you smoke them at the lights and they finaly catch up 4 sets of light later once youve stopped this isnt my car but its exactly the same ill get some pics up as so as i can mines also got the white mags of the brumby on it. sory i cant put a photo how do i do it

  8. hey i was woundering if it is possible to make a brumby into 4wd full time ive just about finished rebuilding my worked up ea82t and i was thinking is it possible to mate up a rx coupe 5 speed box and read dif to the ute to make it full time 4wd for that extra grip over here on the windy new zealand roads. i realise i will have to make new mounts and do some drive shaft modifications but thats not a problem some one mentioned to me that the axels are different and it wont work or somethink any help would be much apresiated. also i was woundering if any one on the board have lowered there brumbys as i was thinkin of doin this and widening the standard rims to accomidate 205/13/60 tyres. as i want to make it look standardish to give all those new subies a bit of a shock any pics of utes would be great cheers patt..
  9. hey hows everybody goin ive got and rx coupe and the body is stuffed on it but the gear box is mint i dont know much about rx coupes but it has a 5speed in it and it has an eletronic diflock in it in think ive been thinking of puttin this gear box and rear dif into my brumby with my rebuilt and worked ea82t full time 4wd drive would be sic you would be able to throw it into the mean corners at high speed. its just gota be able to keep up wif my brothers rs and ill be happy. any info and help would be great are the mounts much different from the standad hi low 4wd gearbox and if it is eletronic dif lock could i put i switch on the steering wheel to do the mad launches.. cheers any input would be greatly appresiated. patt.
  10. hey im in the middle of doin up my ea82t engine and ive spent close to $2500 nz on it so far and its still in bits but thats with all the mods. i do know that the whole gasket set for the engines are very expensive but im over in new zealand. ud be better of doing most of the work yourself spend the $50 on buying a complete workshop manual rather than spendin $60-$100 per hour getting some one else to do it sure there is some things you cant do yourself but also doin it your self you get a better understanding of the engine next time somethink goes wrong ull know exactly whats wrong.. gud luck on doin it theres always everyone here to help you alnog to... patt
  11. yes i realise that they wont fit right in but if i get a biiger fuel pump and some better fuel hosing it could be done right if i get the new comp tuned on a dyno to work with the new injectors i was thinkin of using the same fuel rain and just change the injectors and get my engenerring friend to fabricate them fit nicely and i also realsie that i will need a fuel pressure regulator its just my older bro work at a subi shop and he can get me the regulator and injectors (second hand of course for free) but we will just find a decent pump to to the job im sure it can be done one of my best mates has a dyno at his workshop to do the tuning ill keep every body up to date as i can ive got my self the brumby its a 1992 brumby its done 187345kms its a red and grey at the bottom below the door trims two tone one t top roof and it ammulicate an older guy had it and it has had big floormats and seal covers and a carpet dash cover on all its life so its mint and no dents as he has had it from new i cant get the ute till september as hes out of the country but im gettin the engine all ready to fabricate some new engine and gearbox mounts. so i can go boostin.patt
  12. hey i was woundering if some rs legacy injectors would fit into and ea82t and or if anyone has done it before and if it made much of a difference. ive managed to source myself an tdo5 turbo for the ute but it needs a rear housing. ive got my brother lookin for a computer to run all this. any ideas would be good and what would be a good comp to run it. cheers patt
  13. hows it goin i had the same troubles with mine aye clean up as much of the rubbish around the lifters and i used a magnet to get mine out aye it works a treat just a little pen magnet or somethink or just steal one of you mums good fridge magnets good luck. patt
  14. jack the car up so the spring pin is facing vertical and put tape round the bottom of the hole and fill it up wif crc of wd40 and go back to it the next day and it should be mint crc does wounders make sure u fill it up tho not just gas and bubbles... patt
  15. driving in 4wd on the pavement is very hard on all the running gear and if the axile bolt was a little loose and enabled a little play can damage it very very fast luckie u were in a subie aye mate otha wise u would of been pushin..
