Mobil One

So I should stick with the same weight? -
I got my Legacy 4 years ago (in july). Its a 1997 automatic GT and it has 77,000 miles on it. Since I had it I never change the tranny oil and filter. I put around 30,000 miles on it. I doubt it was changed before I got it. What is the best oil and filter for it? and where can I get them online? I have a slight vibration, Subaru told me it might be the rear tans axle box or something like that. I forgot what he said. Maybe someone else will know what it is.

I had a chatter noise when I took sharp turns, like pulling in parking spots and crap like that. Both front axles were bad, Subaru tried to screw me after a week after I bought it and they didnt want tp replace it. They must have greased up the whole front end. So I brought my argument to the owner and he had both axles replaced. After that nothing but nice smooth turning.

Oil Dipstick
Reason01 replied to jowens's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVX
At least you guys get some sort of reading. I have to wrestle with it because it seems to bind somewhere halfway down. Im sure they all arent like this, if so NICE DESIGN! Should I just go out and buy a new dipstick assembly? -
Subie Gal, I don't have to worry about 4" mud puddles around here. All streets dont really rain bad enough around here that the streets get flooded. How bad does it kill performance? I will hold off on the CAI. I want and need some low end torque. I heard headers and full exhaust will kill my low end torque, so Im in a cross road.

Last thread of the day I promise! I have a 97 Legacy GT sedan....(auto:banghead: ). The car is pretty much stock on engine performance. I have H&R springs, KYB GR-2 struts, Cusco lower arm brace, Super pro steering rack bushings, And I have to install my Catback from a 2004 STi. Do any of you have any tips and or ideas what I should do next? What would you do if you had this car? I just want some ideas, because there is SO much stuff that I want to get.

I agree with Chip, Teagues auto is a sweet place to get parts, that where I get most of my parts. Dale Teague is a great guy to do business with. Also another place that my friend goes to for his STi is www.xxtuning.com This place is the balls. They do everything and anything, And I will be doing a dyno pull there to see what my car runs stock. Anyway check out the website, but you will be better off CALLING them, trust me

A friend of mine has a STi, and some of the mods he has done is. Ported wastegate, GT spec headers, catless straight pipe, and HKS exhaust. I think thats about it for mods. The rest is sound and cosmetics. The car is VERY fast, when he runs 114 octane he sometimes shoots out flames from the exhaust.
