light for radio clock never worked in my 99 either. i don't think there was a bulb there.bad design if so.lol

kbb says private party value around 5000. i would - out prob 3500 for engine and install. so 1500 value.

i will have it apraised. and i guess your prob right about ebay/craigslist but i dont think i've ever seen a fixed up ru there.

yes i did all the work myself other than the paint, me and my dad did the paint together.and i am not spoiled (i though i went through my sory already) i went through alot to get my money.i am glad to hear someone else fixed up their ru like me.i belive i will have the ru till i die. many people have tryed to get me to sell it but i never did.it means to much to me. but whats a third eye? is that the backup cam? also you said you put new wheels on it i still havent found any desent wheels for mine. where did you get them that match the 4lug pattern? or how can i change the 4 lug pattern? so i can put better wheels on?

those small costs all add up. and i know many people have and will spend that kind of money on their ru's,if they have sentimental value like mine does to me. in fact if you keep track of repair/upgrade cost for your ru's many of you have probly spent a few g's in your cars lifetime. what i meant by my original question was does anyone know a site that takes upgrades into account when booking? the car has sentimental value to me and,i know i have totaled it by fixing it. lol and I don't want to sell it i was intrested in value for insurance use. craiglist and ebay are bad examples of values from people desperate to sell their rust bucket cars.no offense to rusty ru owners.lol:burnout:

ebay and craigslist are deal sites. i was speaking of local dealers prices being around 3000. the stereo system alone was around 800 i will give you some more aproxx numbers. tires=500 new engine(when old one wouldnt pass smog anymore= 2000 (reman ordered from local kragen) carpet and carpet supplies= 300 seats front= 500ea back seat custom remade 500 nav system 300 grille 25 new headlights and bulbs 100 ea costom made headrests for back seat 5o ea custom rebiult door panels 150 ea battery 150 paint 500 (was cheap because my dad is a painter) dash repair work 150. need i go on?

many of my famly are/have been in the military and ems. i currently have 2 cousins in iraq 1 is a sargent.i don't think emts/firecrews want bad things to happen to people. it's not about cheap thrills. it's about saving lives. and i'm sure i'm not the only one willing/wanting to fix up a car that, to us seems like a turd but to them is special. ever see a show called pimp my ride? sure some just wanted a new car but some wanted their car made nice, beacause it meant something to them? I suppose if you(gd) hit the lottery tomarrow you would throw away every thing you own? I did not get my money easy. I was poor most my life.until about a year ago.the gl was a big deal to me when I got it. I had to work hard and save for 7 months to get it.without that car I might not be rich now. Cant you understand why the car is important to me, now?

gl's even beat up still go for 2000-3000 here (in Lake Tahoe). I did not pay too much.I left the cap on to show i was yelling! duh!! I own a company that sells DSL service. The 04 outback is the newest subaru I have I never said it was the newest car I had many of my company trucks are newer. just because I have money doesn't mean i have to drive a 09 bmw. I put money in my gl because I wanted to. it is speacial to me.and I dont have to explain myself to you gd.i am a good person and donate $ to many people.I think my 34 posts are better than 0.fact is my 88 "turd" gl is probly nicer than your best car! and i'm sure many real subaru lovers would do the same as me.as for me being a kid. what kind of a man are you judgeing a man you've never met? i invested money into it because it means somthing to me. and no i will not be selling it. i have had offers in the past and turned then down.

IT HAS HEATED LEATHER AND A CLARION SOUND SYSTEM (WAY BETTER THAN BOSE IF YOU ASK ME). I BOUGHT THE GL WHEN I WAS 15 WITH MY OWN MONEY, AND 2200 WAS ALOT TO ME BACK THEN.AND I HAVE DONE ALL THE UPGRADES MYSELF THATS WHY IT IS PRICELESS TO ME. I JUST WONDERD WHAT THE VALUE WAS FOR INSURANCE PURPASES.

me too. i'v seen gl's go for 3000 here in Tahoe.I paid 2200 for my gl and it was in bad condition.

800 is a steal for that. + it looks realy clean. I would buy it if I were you.:cool:

I was wondering if anyone knows where to find the value of my gl besides kbb. I put new carpet,seats, paint, stereo/mp3/cd,speakers and much more,I spent about 7g's so far.kbb does not take that into account. does anyone know an aprox value? i would never sell her but just wondering about the value.

i live in lake tahoe.its about 80 here. i'm going to the bay area and it's about 98 there.i will take the trip then replace it as i don't want engine probs. thanks guys
