lol It's a gl.thats what I was saying when I said the owner dosent know about ru's(he called it a glloyale).see the gl emblem in this pic.

I went a few hours away to get each one of my ru's.I know it's not 2600 miles,but if you want the car go, for it. My gl had been sitting two years when I got it.I replaced the battery and drove it home fine.Gd dosen't seem to like ea82's,but to me a t wagon is worth getting. congrats on the find.

you guys are probly right about the ej22s.But theres nothing wrong with the gls engine.I only wanted the xt6's for more power.But as dearon said I will leave the old one alone,As the turbo sounds like bad news.but now I want a nice xt too.lol,thanks guys

As I said blue I had a bad ej,and I don't want anything to do with ej's. Read the things I said were wrong with my ej22 and you should understand why it had less power.

I'll just keep the ea82.But it's not about money to me I spent alot on it already,but i'm not getting into that story again.I have had it 5 years and don't ever plan to sell it.But now I think I feel a fourth ru being added to my list soon.lol

I think the best thing for me to do is leave the ea82.I have only had one prob with an ea82 and that was a smog issue.the ej22 blew headgaskets and pretty much every other gasket,every pully and too much more to list.I'm not saying there bad engines I'd just prefer to stay away from them.my gl hit 284 before I replaced the engine due to smog.And the old engine still runs,I kept it(not sure why but I did,lol).The ej22 had less power than my ea82 anyway.The 99 you see is the one I'm talking about, It's now sittng in my yard until the lawsuit is over,the engines in the backseat.As for my 04 I've only poped the hood once to change the oil.I have yet to have a problem with it(and hope I never do).It has it's normal engine(h4).I bought an extended warranty this time just in case,lol.I'm not sure what the call sign is for it.

why is the name changing?

I know I don't want an ej22 I have one andhave had nothing but problems with it. It spent months going in and out of the shop and cost me thousands.Then finaly blew a rod, by the time that happened I was happy I wouldent have to fix it any more. I later found out it was a junk yard engine, now I'm sueing the dealer.and I bought an 04 loaded obw.But the gl is my toy.It sounds bad to switch these when I don't know that much about them.How much power does the turbo system for the ea82 give you?I saw one at a local junk yard.

I have an 88 gl wagon. Will an xt 6 engine match with the gl's trans? I want the engine from a totaled xt6 because it has more hp.But I don't want to switch the trans. Also I know the gl is a 90 hp ea82 but what is the xt6(hp and call sign plz)? How much power will I gain with the xt6 engine?

I had to push mine real hard as GD said.And I've never had an issue since.But shortly after that I put new tires on.So that may be an issue too. Also I put it in N and not drive.You may want to try that if you havent already fixed it.Not sure if it matters or not though.

my gl has been stuck before,after siting a while. I just pushed hard and it finaly went back to fwd.I havent had any trouble since.

I know. my 04 obw saw 5f the other day.She ran fine but the ticking noises the first 5 min are so sad.But are nothing compared to my mom's Rodeo(it sqeals realy loud).

Not sure who does these,but there are other tests like this on you tube.All the ones I've seen have the same result.Subies RULE! LOL we have recived about 4 feet of snow per day here (Tahoe) for the last few days.They say its a 50 year record for us.And my obw is still getin me where I need to go.If this storm does'nt stop ru's, I don't think we will ever have enough snow here to stop them.yea ru's

Three words replace head gaskets.

Tahoes old ru selection does suck.Even gl's are somewhat rare here.Due to rust issues I think.However if you drive to local areas of Tahoe(not tourist areas).you will see many newer ru's.It also depends on weather and the area of Tahoe, the west and north cities don't have many ru's.But in South lake there everywhere especily in snow storms like we are having now.7 out of 10 cars on the road now are ru's.Idk where Rick was in Tahoe,but areas like the casinos are tourist areas.Thats why you see so many 2wds.No local in his/her right mind would drive a 2wd in winter here. And the fact that he saw so many tells me he was in a tourist area.

I never said we had more.I just said we have alot.And I said older ru's are rare.

Lake Tahoe,California is west coast.LOL As I siad, I've never been to Seatle. We have suba only garages and pick and pull in Carson city(25 min drive) has a huge suba section.Same goes for our garages.We also have nice trails and beautiful scenery(It's Lake Tahoe for crying out load).But we also have sky high prices on everything.If I were the thread poster I'd look at all three towns before moving.
