anythings possible...with enough time and money, depending on how the bead, how they seal to the rim and such...might take a metal fabricator cumstomizing the rims to fit....but like i said, with enough time and money anythings possible

drilled/slotted rotors worth it??
BlindSight replied to BlindSight's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
lots of good arguments. about how long does it take to change the rear drums to rear disks. my drums and shoes aren't in that bad of shape right now though.....but my front rotors are warped pretty bad and machined slightly past the min so need to change them asap. -

1987 subaru gl 4wd wagon, not sure what pads...will be replacing them, reccomendations? my driving habits are random, drive "fast and furious" sometimes but after its lifted and i get the big tires under it wont be driving too crazy but want the best breaking possible without having to do the rear disk conversion. -
found these on ebay and was wondering if this was a good price and if anyone has tried any of them and if is worth the extra cash or should i just go with some oreilly cheapos or something similar.
-
not real sure why it takes so long if they are already made and boxed and you already have my payment and all....but its all good....just asap, i just hope the tires on my 13" rims hold out that long...went ahead and waited to replace them and got some tires for my new pug rims instead hoping that i wouldn't be on my scary bald 13"s for very much longer but we shall see.

Car wont idle at times, maybe the EGR?
BlindSight replied to BlindSight's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
its an ea82 1987 subaru GL 4WD wagon, carbed. Adjusted the idle up and it didnt really fix anything, just idles high the few times it actually idles. changed the pcv valve and air filter ...there are a couple of vacuum lines that i think should be connected somewhere that i could never figure out where they go...will take some pics and see if anyone knows where they should be routed. -

anyone had something like this before? -
So for some time now my car hasn't wanted to idle right, adjusted some things and when it does idle it runs at 2k rpm but most of the time if I am not accelerating it dies...it seems to want to idle for a short period of time after i have ran it on the highway for a while but most of the time it dies on my when i dont tpress on the gas. Was thinking, could it be the EGR maybe?

k well what about springs?
-
where the heck can i find some good ones?...I plan on driving it pretty hard after i install my lift and put the bigger wheels and tires on it and my springs and struts are pretty shot...so while im replacing them i figured i should ask around and see what everyone would reccommend buying...how much...and where from.

carbed EA82 oil in aircleaner!?
BlindSight replied to BlindSight's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
k will do, replaced the air filter and the pcv valve and will be getting the correct plug wires and other parts today so i can get it back running and test it out today. -
I was thinking about adding another set of rectangle fog lights to the car and want them on the bumper and was thinking the best spot would be where the inset turnsignals are now. But I have to have turn signals so....what about the corner lights...i mean...I dont realllly need daytime or parking lights so maybe be possible to splice in the turn signal wires inplace of the wires currently going to the corners. I know there are two lights in the corner so could I Y them off and have both of the corner light bulbs blink, and maybe find some amber bulbs? Ideas, suggestions?
