  1. that is sick... ooohh arhhh .... are they brake controlled for steering(like bulldozer) or a really massive power steering unit?
  2. right it sounds like i have a plan now. ill sort it and hopefully all goes to plan..
  3. i had the same sort of thing happen( not on a soob though) i just put on a small layer of gasket gunk. then the gaskets.. although if they are really small i wouldnt even bother with the gunk. the head should clamp down hard enough on the gasket to make the pits irrellivant... of course my opinion... cant be sure... mabee a couple of photos so we can make a better judgement.. good luck
  4. with the heli coils are they steel? what do you think would be the strongest option?
  5. i have just put a new enginge in my car. and just did my fist 4x4 test mission on it. engine went great... but i have ****ed one of threads inside the engine that hold s the exaust pipe in place.. so now my car is making this ungodly noise.. grrrr this is exactly the same trouble i had with the last engine.. is this a popular problem....??? and what can i do to fix it? rethead the hole with larger size? put some sort of insert in? help
  6. hey do you guys know a supplier.. or website for lift kits i want to get a 3" but ive had no luck finding one in new zealand.. so it looks like i might have to get one from the states..
  7. i finally cracked it.. imanaged to kill two birds with one stone.... so so simple. ive had over heating problems from since i first got my car... i brought a new radiator added an extra fan removed the thermostat. hummed and harred as to why i was still losing water all hoses were fine. also i had water on the passenger floor. i thought it was a leak from the window. so didnt think to much of it.. you can see where this is going.... bingo. took off the heater hose and looped it round... joy oh joy car is running nice and cool.. no more puddle on the floor...
  8. is it a mission to do this (move lugs drill holes ect) what would i need to do this? could you possibly change the whole wheel thing over from a toyota to the soobie.. or no:brow:
  9. it shouldnt take too long. its only a matter of 4 bolts on the gear boxand a couple on drive shaft .. the drive shaft i beleive is the same.but this is where the problems beguin. after ripping the old auto out. you ll have to do some cutting a mission but not so bad if you have another car to take measurements from.. also there is of course the fly wheel from a manual. your fuct if you dont have that. then there is the clutch kit, clutch cable, foot pedal, mounting brackets. ect ...it can all be done in a weekend. but thats only if you are really quite organised .... also dont quote me on this but i seem to remember something about the auto and manual diff ratios being different as well it might be worth looking into.. i think the usrm link at the top of the page might be able to tell you for sure.. well if i think of any thing else ill let ya know... good luck your gunna need it.
  10. hey i dont sapose any of you guys could post a photo of your toyota/chevy wheels drilled and all the biz.. im slightly confused on how you have done it... cheers mate
  11. yeah they were studs on left and right side that i ripped out of old engine.. i will at some stage change the exaust around to use the 2 good holes. but thats a matter for exaust guy as im a shocking weilder.. tut tut.. good enough for now..
  12. hey its totally diffenent from all 3 of the ea82 engines i have so id have to choose ea81. if it just between those 2 engines
  13. cheers guys for all the help.. engine transfer a sucess.. although i did thead one of the threads on the exaust.. **** it... not to worry though i put a bolt left and right side of exuast and that seems to be holding it fine.. wow the powr difference is amazing.. and quiet too
  14. thanks so much ill organise all of that.. cheers for your help
