January 17, 201016 yr OK. Here's one for you. Those of you who have an EA engine, and HATE the perpetually loose oil cap? Ever wonder if an EJ oil fill spout would fit on an EA82T? YEP!!!!!!! You have to drill the bolt holes a bit bigger. The EJ tube has an o-ring slot. You might be able to find a big enough o-ring to seal it. I didn't and was in a hurry, so I simply made a gasket for the engine / oil fill tube. (Yes, I posted this on a different thread, but that threat is very long, and though this mod deserved one all it's own)
January 17, 201016 yr Very cool. I never tought of trying this on a ea82. Question is can you also fit them to a EA81 EA71 and a EA63. All those engines seem to piss me off with there loose caps.
January 17, 201016 yr Get a cap from NAPA, my cap is very tight, much tighter then the stocker i lost...
January 17, 201016 yr hahaha i´ve lost 3 of them from many of my EA-82´s, so now i just bend the tabs on them slightly so it sits more tight on
January 17, 201016 yr Author hahaha i´ve lost 3 of them from many of my EA-82´s, so now i just bend the tabs on them slightly so it sits more tight on I used to do that, but that only works for so long. It is a really easy mod. I used to have an EA81 GL. It was a very long time ago, but I'm almost certain the oil fill on the 81's and 82's are the same.
January 17, 201016 yr I lost my cap on my 83 wagon. Now Im running the lower half of a MT dew can.Its just as tight as the stocker..especially cause the can is crunched down tight n the oil fill tube...Never thought of useing the legacy style filler...
January 17, 201016 yr And in case anyone wants to know why the caps get loose... the gasket compresses. Get a new gasket and all is well again. Creative though!
January 17, 201016 yr On my little 1400 GSR the cap was that bloody tight I couldnt get it off. One of a legacy would be nice, It would come off easier
