March 25, 201313 yr Author I need to get some of that. My car sounds like sheet metal in high winds with every bump. Its well worth pulling the headliner. I got the roll from Lowes. It is 6"x25' I could have used a little more but made that amount work. I took it for a test down a 14 mile washboard road and it was so different than the tin can I'm used to.
March 25, 201313 yr Author Yes I put mine back. Sure it looks like it should be thrown away but with a little patience it is back in. About 6 years ago i pulled the headliner out of my 06 wrx to put the gps antenna in that cat and ran out of patience, to this day it still does not have a headliner. Now my wife drives the wrx and i hear about it every day.
March 25, 201313 yr I was actually going to ask you about the temp sensor. I don't have that hooked up yet, just the fuel level guage. I can't seem to locate the temp sensor wire in the 01 wiring. I printed out the fsm for the wiring but can't find it there either. Do you know which wire it is? Not off the top of my head. I could take a look when I have some spare time, but that might be a while. The EA82 doesn't have a temp sensor in the tank, so there's nothing to hook it up to, anyways. I could help find the wire in the newer harness, but what to do with it, I don't know. Maybe you could probe another car at the fuel tank to find it. They should be similar wire colors in a late model 1999 through 2003. Then trace it back to the connector by the passenger kickboard under the dash.
March 25, 201313 yr Author Ahhh but the ea82 does have a temp sensor, at least mine does. I ran that wire up to the connector where i know the 01 wire should be, i just don't know which wire it is in the 01 harness.

March 25, 201313 yr Author Awesome, thanks! You mentioned 99-03, i have an 03 in the garage, I'll check that one out and trace some wires to the temp sensor. Good idea! Other than that the only code i have is for emissions, but i don't have the 01 evap canister....yet. Thanks again for your help.
March 25, 201313 yr I really hope i don't have any issues with the law using these lights. They are only 55w bulbs. I will be using the two inners as low and all four on as high. I know the bulb its self is they same you can buy for replacement in a Jeep or the like with round style lamps. I'd expect problems. doesn't the Hella box say "for off road use only"? CAN state law ain't an easy one tp get by either, I'd imagine :-/
March 25, 201313 yr No prob on the wiring. Let us know what you find. Superu, no kidding about CA, but it shouldn't be too bad if they're aimed right for the test. Shouldn't raise any flags.
March 26, 201313 yr Maybe I should just get an FI fuel tank and have a temp sensor, too. Snap a picture for me, if you get a chance, of the sensor location.

The Superwinch is 24" long, and weighs 7lbs less, not that that's much.

Plan on doing chinups with yours? Ha ha. L/W/H 22"x6.3"x8.1" Its pretty darn heavy that's for sure, 94lbs. But for $248 shipped its what I'm runnin!
March 27, 201313 yr That's a good price. The best price I found was $299 shipped. I am going to have King Springs on mine, so I'm hoping when I get a winch, those will help with the added weight.

I just happened upon this on Amazon, it was sold as a used item. I looked further and it seemed to only have a damaged box. So for the low low price of $228 plus tax I jumped on it.

Though I just used some aligator clips that dont always make a good connection. I will hard wire it and try that one again.
