February 13, 200422 yr Out of all the stock EA81 heads, what are the best ones? As far as flow and valve size that is.
February 13, 200422 yr Anything that was had an auto attached to it or after 85-86. These motors will all have hydrolic lifters and thus, bigger valves.
February 14, 200422 yr Beg to differ..... 84 Automatics have hydro lifters, and ALL EA81's made from 85 to 89 have them as well - auto or stick, doesn't matter. 83 and older will all be solid lifters.... ALSO - EA81T's had hydro lifters And yes - they have bigger valves, so these are desireable. GD (not sure if 83 auto's had hydro lifters.... maybe. I can't remember)
February 14, 200422 yr Author Any one know how much bigger? Could U just have the older heads cut to take the bigger valves?
February 14, 200422 yr I was in a hurry and didnt really feel like all that dribble. the turbo heads are a no brainer because THEY ALL HAD AUTOS! I guess I just neglected to mention the stick part. The valves would be a few mm's larger, I think. Don't hold me to that...
February 15, 200422 yr Author Do U have to do any thing special to the engine to use hyd. lifter heads on a solid lifter engine?
