This is my first road trip in my Brat for me and I am planning some general maintenence before I go. Can you guys tell me if I'm missing anything important?

inspect and repack front and rear bearings

replace all filters (air,fuel,oil)

drain and replace fluids in the trans,t-case,rear diff, engine, power steering and coolant

change t-stat

have wheels balanced

change plugs,wires,cap,rotor

inspect hoses and belts

I'm bringing along metric wrenches,sockets,flashlights with extra batterys,jumper cables,extra oil,atf,coolant.

Did I miss anything important.

Thanks

gas washer fluid bulbs fuses freon brake fluid gloves hammer duck tape paper towels cel phone

perhaps some cold weather gear (sleeping bag, warm parka etc) in case you get stranded in a snowstorm or something.. Good Luck!!

USMB for life

shoot don't forget to bring some extra cash you never know what mite happen;)

SPARE TIMING BELTS!

you never know when one can go for whatever reason, as long as you are comfortable with fixing it off the side of the road

make sure all the lights work, every one, license lite too, if you are travelling across states, in "foreign" land

have at least a calling card so it doesnt use your cash if you have to make a phone call

and dont drive on a suspended license in a car with no insurance, make sure the plates and paperwork are current.

make sure the rubbers in your glove box are still good. Never know who you'll meet on a road trip ;)

I'm bringing enough spare bulbs to replace all of them on the car.

no need for the timing belts though, its an EA81T.
