nitsuj80
I was in the process of torqueing the heads on my EA81 when one of the studs started to pull a thread.... I searched previous threads but was unable to find the information I am looking for. My question is what size is this stud? Also is it possible to use a heli-coil with success? Lastly when I go to re-install the stud should I use loc-tite? If anyone has any information it would be really appreciated. Thanks

Crazyeights
I had a local machine shop helicoil an EA81 stud for me and it wasn't expensive. They did a great job. Sorry I don't have the thread size handy but someone will.
GeneralDisorder
You can heli-coil it. The studs should be 11mm x 1.25 You will have to use multiple heli-coil's (stacked) to get enough thread engagement. Do not use loctite. And definitely replace the head gasket.
