Correct adapter for Weber?

Featured Replies

I have seen the 2pc Redline adapters and am not a fan of the design. A friend told me about this particular adapter on the Jeg's website and I was wondering if it would be close enough to graft a 32/26 onto my EA82? The manifold flange is Datsun 1600/1800 style. It looks to be a much better design than the Redline style.

It will work. I have used this exact one. Worked great!

May want to look into a lower profile filter if your car is not lifted. the tall filter will work, but will likely rub the hood slightly.

Excellent! Thank you!

My other idea was having a friend TIG a Redline one piece by piece to a spare EA82 manifold, as I have a rather rough set where the surfaces are not true. My car is not lifted (yet), but I was planning on using the short filter anyway.

I ordered it. Another paycheck or two and I'll be ordering my Weber!

You could also just drill two 1 1/4"(36mm) holes in a piece of 1 1/4" thick Aluminum bar using a hole saw, properly spaced to fit a weber and weld that on. If you have a spool gun, you could also use a mig to weld it on. A DFAV needs 1 1/4" using stock ford linkage, but an actual DG series weber may need less...maybe and 1"

I'm running a DFAV, 1 1/4" spacer 3" tall filter with no lift and theres about 1/4" betweeen the hood and the filter

This Thread "Dropped from Heaven" for Me... in Latin America we Say that Somethin' Dropped from Heaven when it comes in the Right Time at the Right Place: "Me Cayó del Cielo"

I've been Restoring my Weberized EA82 Wagon, Repainting it, etc... and during this Process, the Weber carb and the upper one from the two Adaptor Plates got Damaged by Someone who was "Helping" me ... :-\ ...

I Alredy fixed the Weber Carb but one of the Threads of the Plate is Damaged.

There are many options to fix that up, like Welding the Screws directly to the Aluminium, etc... but I Really Liked the Idea of the Above-Posted Link's Adaptor Plate:

Trans-DaptWeberAdapterN2107.jpg?t=1305659823

Because it seems like it will Allow me to use Pass-thru Screws with Nuts to Hold the Carb, while the Adapter's Bottom plate could be Directly Welded to the Original intake Manyfold to get Rid from Vacuum Leaks.

Could somebody that Already have Used this Adaptor Plate on a EA82 Engine with the 32/36 Weber, confirm me if the Plate facing the Carb's Button will have enough space to use Pass-Thru Screws, Please?

Kind Regards.

Thank you.

I Know my '85 Wagon has the EA82 Engine ... :) ...

I was Wondering if that Datsun Adapter for Weber / Holley Carbs will Fit exactly to my Subie's intake Manyfold, but Since I Readed obk25xt's post, I know it Works for sure, but I wanted to know more Details about it...

obk25xt: Could you Post pics of your Subie's weber with that adaptor, Please?

Kind Regards.

No actually I cannot! Sorry. I Swapped that ea82 engine out over a year ago in favor of the infamous ej22 . I can say this though, the throttle cable bracket will have to be custom modified to use this adapter.

What I did was....

I used the cable bracket off a SPFI intake manifold. I had to turn it 180 degrees and put a bend or 2 in it. The reason is, the transdapt adapter raises the weber carb 2-3" I'm doin my best at remembering here! You will have to put your thinking cap on when it comes to hooking up the linkage but hey, it's not rock science!Hope this helps.
