I have a 98 forester 2.5 twin cam, it has had the head gaskets replaced now it is using oil? what can I do to this thing.

Keep putting oil in it for now, and plan on checking out the rings and/or valve stem seals with a leak-down test, etc.

Is it leaking or burning it?

are you 100% positive it's using oil and not leaking oil?

 

if so then that's annoying. do you know how much per 1,000 miles it's using oil?

 

replace the PCV valve and clean out the hoses below it to reduce crank case pressures. not likely to help but for $7 and 10 minutes it doesn't hurt considering the original is probably plugged.

it is not smoking when running, but I cant see a leek eather,under side is clean.

HOw long since the cam seals been replaced
