September 7, 201114 yr I Did Mine of Sheet Metal and Covered with FiberGlass, then Sanded & Painted it, the Idea was to Let the Weber Scream out ... ... Louder!!! Click on my Avatar and you'll See a Picture on my Weberized Wagon's Album; so you'll see the Small Hood Scoop I Did. Kind Regards. Edited September 8, 201114 yr by Loyale 2.7 Turbo
September 7, 201114 yr When I got the ea82 I noticed the shape of the hood would be perfect for a hood scoop. I pictured exactly what you have Turbone. Then I said to my self "make it run good before you make it look good". Even more I looked at prices for true wrx scoops:eek: Ill pass for now Its not like Im running an intercooler anyways
September 8, 201114 yr Author Damn that is THE SEX, I remember there was a small hood scoop, not sure from what year though, yours came out pretty clean. What did you use to cut it? Will a plasma cutter work?
September 8, 201114 yr I had to narrow it to fit, I bought the car with a terrible hole already cut into the hood. (later I put a tmic under the scoop) the stainless button head screws have nothing to do with the scoop, but were a way to plug the ginormous holes left over from the PO there are some more pics here that sort of show the play by play of installing it http://s33.photobucket.com/albums/d59/Triquel/Poop%20Scoop/
September 8, 201114 yr Damn that is THE SEX, I remember there was a small hood scoop, not sure from what year though, yours came out pretty clean. What did you use to cut it? Will a plasma cutter work? It's PVC, cut it with a saw or whatever. I cut 5in out of the center and used the remnant to brace it underneath, then I epoxied it. I used a filler on the seam, but it flexes and ends up cracking. I have it vinyl wrapped now, so its not as noticeable. There is a smaller scoop on ebay that doesnt need to be cut, I used it for a while. This one will work, but it will be right at the edges of the hood crease. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/TURBO-RACING-STYLE-HOOD-SCOOP-VENT-BLACK-CAMARO-CHARGER-/350490522058?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Make%3ASubaru&hash=item519adcf1ca#ht_6865wt_1161 Edited September 8, 201114 yr by Turbone
September 9, 201114 yr Author Ive been looking on ebay and that is the only one I found that was in my price range xD. Ill end up using that one, hopefully it comes out just as clean.
September 9, 201114 yr Not on my RX, but you can try it I think it could be done well. The real Shaker had a fixed air box that the hood opening sealed to... that'd really lend itself to a tmic or even a true cold air airbox for the intake I accept the challenge. WCSS 15 baby.
