March 13, 200422 yr 2000 Legacy GT 60,000 mi. scraping sound from right rear tire area when moving. Front brakes done at 37,000 nothing on rear yet. Any idea of the usual suspects??

March 14, 200422 yr I also had a scraping sound coming from the right rear but only on left turns. I took it in and they found the inner ring portion of the rotor rubbing on the backplate. The tech said it is usually hard to find but he had seen this before on Subarus so he knew right where to look. He machined the ring down a little and a half an hour later I was on the road and the scraping was gone. Brakes and wheel bearings were fine. Bill
March 14, 200422 yr I had a problem like that...it was that little plastic guard (it looked like it caught stuff that'd fall or something)...came loose and would rub...but could only be heard when going slow.

March 19, 200422 yr check the rear caliper sliders, there is a good chance corrosion has built up causing the caliper/pad assy. might be binding.
