Called Ferguson Subaru in Broken Arrow yesterday. 70 miles away, but still the closest Subaru dealer in OK. Asked about exhaust manifold studs and bolts for my 87 Brat. "Oh we wouldn't have anything for something that old" Not "Let me look". Not "something from a newer car might fit". Just "Good bye." I may someday buy a new Subaru, but it certainly won't be from Ferguson Subaru in Broken Arrow OK!

That is totally BS, a dealer can get you anything (As long as its not discontinued) they may have to order it from Subaru, but they can in fact get it. That guy is just to damn lazy.

FYI, Manifold studs for a Loyale will work. I think there is also a "Help" brand kit a O'rileys that has the correct threaded studs/nuts.

I agree however there are a few places around here that carry a lot of stuff for 4 wheelers that tend to carry assorted studs and any type of nut that you could want to go with them. Its just an idea so If you can get one out you might try that if there is one semi local.

sounds very familiar...and totally uncaring of a potential customer.

When they did that to me, I told them i wouldnt be back for parts for my other Subarus, and that I would send my parents elsewhere for their 99 Forester and 06 Legacy, and that I would send my brother elsewhere for his 99 Outback and 02 WRX.

Mail-order works. For something that small the cost of shipping is likely less than the cost of gas for a 70 mile round trip. Try Jason in Parts at 1-866-528-5282 (toll free). He's never been too busy to look up "old" parts. When he is truly busy, he'll beg off and call you back when he has the information you need. Jason works for a Subaru dealer in Auburn, WA and does all their internet or mail order sales.
