Yes, I did the Search thing and I only got Li'l confused; so I must start a New Thread in order to find the Right answer.

 

 

 

 

My BumbleBeast has this Setup:

• Front Suspension: 4WD Subaru Shock absorbers Plus Ford Tempo Coil Springs.
  

• Rear Suspension: 4Runner Shock Absorbers plus Honda accord Coil Springs. (that makes a 2" Lift)
  

• Fifteen (15") inches Rims.
  

(Details about my Suspension mods, could be Found here)

 

 

 

So, The Rear became Taller than the Front... But Now I am about to install a SJR 2" Lift Kit for the Front of my Wagon, (More Details here) So my BumbleBeast will be on Level.

 

The Question I Have is This:

 

Which Size of Tire is the Maximum (Tall & Wide) I can Run on my 2" Lifted BumbleBeast Without trimming?

 

Now it Runs unlifted on 205/60 R15. I'll Like to know which Tire sizes run on 15" rims, people who has 2" Lifts on their EA82 Subies.

i have 28" firestone winterforce on my 91 loyale w/2" lift (205/75/r15). i still had to trim tho.

I Don't want to cut the Fenders... Do you have Pics?

im currently unable to get any pics up w/o a pc at home. you can search my posts/threads. my fenders are cut similar to One Eye's yellow wagon. I will say this tho, I cut my fenders before getting those tires. I origionally had 235/75/r15s and couldnt cut/beat enough to make them fit so all my info is potentially worthless. sorry about that. IMHO if you wanna go bigger and not cut fenders (your car rocks, my car is beat and ugly) i would go taller. others can help out.

What kind of rim are you using? It would make a difference, my 27" tires need quite a bit of triming because i used a wheel with a bit of negative offset.

good point VB, im using '91 mitsubishi (i know) montero wheels. the offset is real close to stock offset.

I have 27 inch tires with a 2 inch lift. I wouldnt of had to do any cutting if i had the lift on before the tires. I have peugeot wheels so my offset is real close to stock. If your running anything else you will need to cut a bit.

Good Question, They're Very Close to Stock offset, but 15" alloys; you can see them in the Picture attached on the link below, or by Clickin' on my Signature; those are in my "BUMBLEBEAST" Subaru.

Could I Kindly ask you, Please, to give the Tire's Measurement in the Standard Format? ...

 

I'm not Sure which size is 27"

 

Now My Bumble Beast has 205/60 R15

 

I don't know how to Measure them to tell you if they're 25", 26" or so...

Your 205/60/15 is about 24.5 inches,

a 215/75/15 is 27.6 inches,

225/70/15 is 27.4 inches.

I Found a Good Deal with a Set of 225/65 R 15 all terrain Tires but I am Not Sure if those are gonna Rub... so I haven't decided yet if I Gonna buy them.

So, maybe my Tire Size Question must be Asked in Overall inches Size...

 

Which size is the Biggest & Widest I can Go Safely (Without Rubbing nor Trimming) on my 2" Lifted BumbleBeast? ... ... 27" ?

27's are pushing it.... 215/75/15 might be able to fit, but it might rub the fenders under full compression...

 

a 225/60 or 225/65 probably wont rub and gives you the widest tread that can fit.

 

i also know that you will have to trim and bash for hours to get a 235/75/15 to fit without rub, lock to lock.

 

 

how opposed are you to "massaging" the inner fender well with a BFH? you should be able to get an even bigger size to fit without cutting the finders themselves.

You mean to Hit the inner Part of the car (that is the Floor) to fit a Bigger Tire?

 

Well... it could be done but a Little in order to avoid deform it to a noticeable way.

 

Could someone Post Pics, Please; of their Big Tire Setup?

I had to Trim to make these tires fit. They are 27x8.50x14 with a negative offset, Jeff (one eye) has a set of 27" wildcats on peugeot steels and they rub very little with no trimming.

 

 

215-70-15 is great!!

lots of good a/t tires come in that size.

its big enough. wider without really being too wide,

and tallish without killing trannys or hurting acceleration too much.

 

i also lean toward medium sidewalls. thats why i went to all the trouble of

getting 15s when i couldve just thrown 27x8.5x15s on, and got the same overall dimensions.

 

the 215-70-15 is supposed to be 26.85.

with a sidewall a half inch shorter than a 215-75-15.

 

i wish someone would make some strong, light, affordable 16x6s in 4x140mm.

then id just run 215/65/16s.

6-lug wheels come in 16x6". Redrill to 4x140mm.

So, Those are 27" and your Subie has a 2" Lift, isn't it? ...

 

if so, it looks like Too much Trim for me.

toyota wheels are toooo heavy....

 

and i dont like the way the centers look with the empty holes and lack of center caps.

 

it just doesnt suit my style.

I'm running a 205/70 - 15 but it's a 4" lift, no trim. I do rub on maximum lock, just barely. I may be going to a low profile 16" because I can get some really nice rims for cheap. Using that tire size calculator I can find a smaller outside diameter and lower sidewall even though it's a larger inner diameter.

one thing you will have to do with that hammer is flatten the seam in the wheel well, and a bit on the inside so that you can retain a full lock to lock steering.

 

you can get away with a tad of hammering without anybody noticing anything. like i said, "massaging"
