EA82 LH valve cover bolt threads crumbled

Featured Replies

I have a 91 Loyale and while changing the LH valve cover the bolt mount on the (camshaft housing?) crumbled. Am I correct that it is the camshaft housing? If so where can I get one having no luck finding anything on the internet.

Thanks.

Hey,

LH means the drivers side? Subaru calls it a camshaft carrier, what came to my mind was cam case.

Anyway, where do you live? Someone local might have one. I disgarded one of those last week, someone had overtightened and cracked it around two bolt holes.

I am in Central Oregon, near Bend. Now that I know what to call the part I might have more luck finding one.

Thanks

Whichever part it is that you need, I have one and you can have it for the price of the shipping. Just let me know.

Thanks, Spencer

Take a pic if necessary.....

i would try to find a way to repair it even if it is one of those little ears.
