Dash Replacment 1980 (Birrr its cold)

Featured Replies

Okay the yahoo that replaced the Dash in my Sons Brat swapped out and Jury rigged the heater/ac/defrost system from what ever the doner car was I produce more heat out my rear end after eating chili then this thing does any ideas? it looks like all the flaps are moving the air is being redirected but its cold, driving in winter you need a ski coat mittens and snow boots to ride in this thing.

Is the core clogged? There's a control valve under the dash that shunts the hot water back into the return line instead of pushing it through the core - depending on the position of the hot/cold lever. I would take both hoses loose from the core in the engine bay and insure that you have flow - and then insure than the control valve is operating and not clogged or something.

Also possibly an aftermarket t-stat? I believe that's a part that people still recommend getting from the dealer? I know there's at least 3 different temperature options that are listed by parts stores for my '85 and two of them open earlier than OE. My brat is a lot warmer with the correct temperature t-stat in it.
