December 25, 201114 yr going to go with a set of redrilled 6 lug wheels, 15" ; on stock 85 BRAT or stock 85 EA81 Hathcback. Both vehicles are staying stock for suspension, going with this size cause have numerous tires to choose from. These could possibly be mounted on either car depending on my mood. What is a good size that is not going to rub, something close to the stock 185/70R13? Don't really plan to do offroading just a good all season tire.
December 25, 201114 yr 185/70R13 is 23.2" in diameter 185/60R15 is about as close as you are going to get. 23.7" diameter. 5.9" tread width
December 28, 201114 yr Author I think I will re-drill this to fit the 4 lugs. These are 15x6 steel and I probably will move my snows on the legacy to these rims, those are winterforce 185/65/15 I will do one and see if it will work or not. does anyone see a issue or think may not work?
December 28, 201114 yr They do also make a 205/50r15 and 205/55r15, which are a tiny bit shorter and taller than stock, respectively. Why do you want to change rims if you don't plan on lifting or offroading? Having less sidewall will make for a rougher ride.
December 28, 201114 yr it can be hard to find good quality tires in a 13 size. and there's not a lot of choice in the wheel styles either. I say go for 205-50-15 the street ride is good, and it's available in just about any type of tire you want.
December 28, 201114 yr You might be better off trying to find a set of mazda 14inch wheels. You can have more sidewall.

Are those close to 0 offset? If so, you'll likely chew up your fenders in a few weeks. I have stock-diameter 15" tires on those types of rims, and it doesn't seem like I can cut enough of the fender to prevent contact. Jacob
December 31, 201114 yr I was running 185/60R15 briefly under my Brumby/BRAT and had rubbing at full lock. I think you'll need to go 55 profile. I wouldn't see much value going much wider and dropping to a 50 profile though... Handling with 15's is just night-and-day better than the stock 13's. I run 14" steel pugs and they are far better than the stockies too, but the 15's make the Brat handle sweeping corners beautifully.
December 31, 201114 yr i've got 195/50 r15's on my 5 studded Brumby because they are the same OD as the tyres that i was running on it on the stock 13" rims before i converted to 5 stud
January 4, 201214 yr Interesting, how wide are your tires? My tires are 195/55-15. Keep in mind I'm crushing fenders with this setup, and I had to do some pounding on the fenderwell too. I suppose if you're lifted, then it won't matter. I love that the speedometer is almost dead-on with this setup, though. Jacob
