25 Spline axles interchangeable between left and right?

Featured Replies

Im looking for both front axles for my 4wd turbo xt and the Only part # I found was 1612684, which is the 25 spline. I just wanted to make sure from someone who knows, if they are the same for the left and the right. Also, are all 25 spline ea82 axles the same from model to model?

left and right are the same. a front axle will fit either side.

Cool. Thanks Gary. Also, another member says he has some various rebuilt factory 25 spline axles that were made for subaru. Which makes me wonder, how many companies made axles for subaru? Is there a prefered brand?

I would only run OEM or Empi axles on any older Subaru. I would only run OEM axles on all EJ cars. Seen way too many issues with aftermarket axles and vibrations.

+1, as long as those aren't aftermarket axles then have at it. the aftermarket axle industry is out of control. MWE is the only other acceptable option for me, there's just too many problems with aftermarket axles.

Hey man , here's where its at. Those are my axles he's talking about. I have what I have and I'll be happy to show all as I can get them out. Meanwhile I do understand from experience and talk here that some axles aren't going to last as long ,etc ...

You guys didn't mention the name that my Subaru Parts guy told me does rebuilds. Maybe they use more than one company for each coast?
