!!!???!!! trobleshooting.

i have a 87 EA82 OCH with FI 4wd(3.900)....i've been rebuilding gasket kits.

*Headgasket...i did 3 step torque from Hayne book. from the beck gasket.

*Timing belt...i did follow the internet

 

*new; spark, battery, lasher, rocker-arm, manifold gasket.

 

*wire, rotor, cup and alternator is new from couple years ago.

~~~coil, distributor, starter motor and valve is older but should be fine?

 

check out my recently video if you know what sound is?

so,tell me whats wrong?

i did put jumper cable, check the sparking. seem gas into??

rewatch that video. double check make sure you rotate engine 360* between belts. skip to about 6:00 of the video to be sure

 

when you say that the lasher and rocker is new, do you mean the valve lash adjuster? if so they should have been soaked and pumped up. Try cranking on it some more maybe they will pump up.

yes, i did 360* for inner belt and i did other 360* for outter belt.

i think i need to make be perfectly on the alignment on the sprocket.

i did put pump into the lasher adjuster before install...it's very soft than old harder..

will it start at all? i'm not clicking the video.

 

they can run terrible when you first start them as the system primes and HLA's bleed/fill up. they'll be noisy too and sound awful, some folks think the motors are hosed...run them for 10 miles and they smooth out.

 

the beck arnley gaskets require retorquing the heads as specififed in the FSM.
