January 4, 201214 yr hello, my outback running is pretty good and everything is fine. my miles said 240K... sometime when i tired to starter like a stalling when im waiting for couple min later get turn on.. mostly of i turn on for often. but sometime problem starter wont get turn on, u know? new battery, wire, sparks... (need new coil or what?)
January 4, 201214 yr maybe you need a new starter? Check the voltage going to the started maybe the solenoid isn't engaging the gear to push out and spin the starter.

January 9, 201214 yr I don't understand your english very well, but the starter has a switch inside that has a copper bar that can get burnt. It can cause the starter not to work all the time. It can be replaced if you can remove your starter and take it apart.

January 9, 201214 yr If it won't crank, and the problem is with the starter, sometimes if you give the starter a little love tap with a small hammer that will coax it into working. But if that works then it does mean the starter needs servicing or replacement.
January 9, 201214 yr Most likely, it's the starter solenoid contacts and plunger...these can be purchased as a kit on eBay. It's really no more difficult to fix this than it is to swap in a new starter, but a lot less expensive; once it's out, part replacement is very simple.
January 9, 201214 yr If it happens to not be the starter. I have seen the battery cables get pretty corroded on these things with high mileage/age. Usually when you wiggle the cable it can intermittently make good contact. you can cut back the insulation a tad on the negative cable and the positive to see if you notice any green corrosion. might be something to look at.
