Just what the subject asked. I would like to know how much the tranny will handle. Before I entertain any thoughts of engine swaps or major upgrades.

I know a guy running a Hi-Po XT6 running about 240HP. To my knowledge he hasn't exploded a tranny yet. The XT6 may have a HD trans compared to the EA82's.

some of us are in WRX territory when it comes to power now. i have the D/R RX trans and 2nd and 3rd feel like they want to grenade themselves at full throttle when i leave the line during a launch.

 

anyone wanna take bets as to who will be the first to blow thiers up?

I fragged reverse rocking myself out of a mud hole I should have winched out of.... All in all the tranny held up to allot of agressive use on and off road. The repalcement has been fine. This is the 4spd D/R.

I've got a midly built 2.7L H6 running into a 5spd D/r outa an 86 RX, have had no problems with it, shifts smooth through all gears, regardless of throttle or rpm. And this is turning a 30" tire.
