VW speedline wheels on impreza?

Featured Replies

So I found a set of 15" VW Corrado wheels they have the same 5x100 bolt pattern only differences I can see is they have a +43 offset versus my imprezas +53 offset will this affect anything? like wear out bearings or something? Reason im staying with 15's is becasue I just bought a brand new set of tires that are 15" and I dont want to buy a whole new set of tires.

Heres the Specs on the Corrado Rims

VW Corrado speed line wheels

Wheel diameter (in.)15

Wheel width (in.)6.5

Wheel lug pattern (mm)5x100

Wheel center bore (mm)57.1

Wheel offset (mm)43

I wouldn't worry about it too much. You shouldn't rub anything either. In the end your car will have a slightly wider stance but only by 2 cm. Could cause wheel bearings to wear out quicker but that isnt that much wider.

I'd pass on those unless you want to risk rubbing the tires and reducing the lifespan of the wheel bearings. I dunno if they are hub-centric or you'd need an adapter or not.

I don't see where the change in the amount of force put on the wheel bearing would be great enough. As it is now the relation between the center of the wheel(where I would calculate the amount of torque placed on the edge of the bearing due to greatest stresses at that point) is actually more towards the inboard edge then the center. Looking from the front of the car the bearing is being forced in a clockwise direction. Moving the wheel out 1 cm will place the center of the wheel closer to the center of the bearing which I see as a good thing. This will reduce the bearings tendency to want to "rotate."

Well since the wheels are local ill just go test fit them and see what type of clearences I have im thinking ill be fine with clearing though and im not even 100% sure what my stock offset is now I have seen a few diffrent sites saying different numbers. So I guess It wont hurt to see how they fit.
