95 legacy auto dies when coming to a stop.

Recommended Posts

I've got a 95 legacy wagon with an auto trnny. It occasionaly dies when I stop at a red light. When it does this to me, it will not start for about 5 min. It just turns over seemingly not getting spark. Then all of the sudden it starts and runs fine. Never any problems while in forward motion. Please help???????

This is not a Transmission issue, it is most likely the Coolant Temp sensor on the Coolant cross over like Fox said. I had this issue with my '95. I also had a bad Knock sensor and Cam sensor which did not help the matter.

The first time it stalled I thought I was out of fuel Ha!

The coolant temp sensor is about $40 bucks from most parts stores. It is kinda of a PITA to get to because the IAC (Idle Air Control Valve) is in the way, but you "can" get to it. I did :)

Take care,

-Tom
