hood lifts

Featured Replies

what do you mean hood lifts, like to raise up the back of the hood like the guys do with the drift corolla's?

in that case, yes me and samo have them on our wagons. i can tell you what i did if thats what you are looking for.

I would assume he is referring to hood hydraulics (like hatchbacks have).

haha....lifting the back of the hood.. that ain't hard

get some 5/16's nuts, and some longer bolts.

Just use the nuts as spacers in between the hood and the hinges

i used 1 inch brass spacers and long bolts.

but this is a great idea with the shocks to lift it instead of that dumb rod.

i just used the nuts on mine as a temp solution.

i wanted to raise the back of the hood a little try and get some heat out of there

i got it higher because im moving to arizona so when i move there it will most likly be gettin 3 digit heat so i cant afford to have her overheat.

I just priced them for my Camry and the wanted $60.00

I think my broom stick will have the work for now....

$60 each or for the pair.I just did the all you can carry thing and stripped a wrecked 92 camry.

Sorry for the hijack brad.. I'll let you know how it comes out.. or if it does.

yeah I was kinda doin the same thing myself sometime soon. However you do it, it'll add a little bit to the customization of the car seein it already has a lot done to it. Lookin good man!

Please remain calm............

This is not a Hijacking!

Both Checker and AutoZone want 28.XX and 29.XX EACH Side!

I might have to pay a visit to JC or even the JY:headbang:

Has anyone tried to install rear hatch lifts for the hood lift on there old subies? (back on track :brow: )

82 Summer, up and running!

01 Forester, up and screeming!

92 Camry, with optional broomstick!

it would be better to get the shocks from the trunk of a car, or a heavy hood, that way they will be stronger, and they wont wear out nearly as fast since they arent holding that much weight up.

Boat part suplyers hve LOTS of diferent sizes and load cap. struts for cheep;) And U can get them as long or short as U want.

Part of my "Day Job" is driving Hysters, just for info, U sit on the engine cover on a Hyster. They are heavy! They have a pair of little (about 8" long cup to cup) struts to hold the engine cover up. I just got a set yesterday with the ball mounts they use. I will try them out as soon as I get a chance and let U all know how they work for me. If they work I will post the P# and Mfg. for them so any one can get 'em ;)

Sweeeet. Where on the hood/body are you thinking of placing them?
