Me again..

Featured Replies

You guys were great last time i had a problem, hopefully you can help me again, I'm getting a knocking, not sure where its from, But i can have it at an idol and rev it, and it sounds great, but when its in a gear, and i give it light gas, i get a pretty loud knocking..

Remember i don't know much so please explain in child terms lol :D

With all the information at hand, I would say it is the fault of greece leaving the EU causing the knocking.

Now if you give us more information...

Year, model, engine, transmission, mileage.

Then

Exactly when does this happen? Is the car hot or cold, does it go away at all with increas of engine speed. What recent work has been done to the car.

It's a 1985 Subaru Gl wagon, Recent work, i got instructions from a post and re-timed the belts, i doubt its the problem its been running fine for weeks, And the car is at normal temperature, oh the engine is a 1.8l i believe, And with increase of gas is dulls, but then gets louder when i back off the gas some, But stops all-together when the pedal is untouched, downshifting, or just idling.

Well right now we are taking history, as it can still ba anything at this point. Is it a hallow sounding knock?

The way you describe it it sounds like a wrist pin... Hopefully not..

I did some testing on the way home, going about 15mph i put it in 3rd, it got higher and hollower, 4th even hollower, and 5th it sounded like a baseball card on a bike wheel

The way you describe it it sounds like a wrist pin... Hopefully not..
Thats what i was thinking.

Is that it?

Well ************ it, Somehow the car locked up and now all the transmission fluid is on the ground and where the bolt that holds it all in, theres a crack across the transmission. Its just one problem after Another.
