July 6, 201213 yr So, why is the bumper on a 1986 GL-10 so different then any other EA82? Its about as long as an '87-'94 Bumper, but the turn signal tunnels are different and what is the molding on top of the bumper? Kinda interesting.
July 6, 201213 yr Author Oops! Mods, please move this to the 80s section. I forgot I was in the members rides section. Sorry...!
July 6, 201213 yr From what I can see comparing to my 87, if you look at the piece of trim on the fender, on the 87 it is flat when it meets the bumper, flat and straight. On the 86 it's at an angle. In the second picture you can notice around the turn signals on the 87 it's more of the same, the bumper is more rounded and to the right of the turn signal the gap is wider. That trim on top of the 86's bumper...gl-10 option maybe? That one I have no idea whether it was on all of them or just gl10s. I guess they switched the grill to the ugly one in 87, too. Love the front end of that 86, the angles are awesome. (Air dam helps =P)
July 6, 201213 yr Its just a Canadain spec ea82 bumper. They look different than usdm. In 1986 (usdm) it would still be the flat-faced bumpers.
July 6, 201213 yr That's crazy, comparing all the pictures, the 86 Canadian spec front bumper looks like a cross between the 87 spec US bumper and the 86 spec US bumper, haha!
July 6, 201213 yr Author Canadian spec eh. Thats weird lol. Yeah I figured all 1985-86 EA82s had the Flush mount signals. Also, weren't the '85-'86 bumpers shorter (Did not stick out as far as '87+ ?) Unless that was only for the 3-doors? Wonder what else Canada got as an option, that we didn't?
July 9, 201213 yr Wonder what else Canada got as an option, that we didn't? Well just by looking at this sedan, the rear license plate is mounted between the tail lights vs under the bumper like in the US. I think the wheels might even be Canadian specific.
July 14, 201213 yr In Chile we had both of these bumpers... the difference is the year.... the new ones are like yours.... 90-93 are like the picture... before this years are "normal"
