October 30, 201213 yr Author ok thank you thats what i thought this thing is just a nightmare to try and order parts for...
October 30, 201213 yr It is if you tell them its an 87. Unless its a real specific part I usually look up the car as an 83 or 84 model year as almost every part is the same.
November 3, 201213 yr I ran into the same issue, getting the wrong parts all the time for my 87 ea81. Once I started looking them as 84, all good. I guess the part stores computer assume, 87 must all have an ea82. Wes
November 3, 201213 yr Yep, gets a lot of people what own EA81's of the years that the EA82's were out. My 1st ever Subaru was an '86 BRAT. Got the wrong front axle(s), plug wires, cap & rotor a few times. Didn't know of the EA82 models then. Then, I found this site and learned of the crossover years. Been doing the '84 model year for parts ever since.
November 3, 201213 yr try and get carb parts for a 86-87 std hatchback with ea82 even the dealer cant tell the difference you have to go by year runs 81-87 ea81 not 85-87 ea82 very confusing try as a 81-87 brat ea81 probly get the right part
