oil crush washer??

Featured Replies

Are you Subaru gurus replacing the oil drain plug crush washer each time you change oil. Last change, mine started to drip. Simply more a mess than anything else. THX.

Been discussed before. I use a new one every time. Cost like a buck.

Some folks have never changed theirs.

Some replace when they leak.

I prefer the copper ones myself.

BTW auto trans plug is the same.

Well, yours is leaking, so of course one would replace that.

But in general, never. I've owned like 20 Subaru's hundreds of thousands of miles and never replaced one and worked on far more. If one ever starts to leak I'll replace it.

I usually replace. I have re-used successfully.

right now, working thru a box of Dorman i got from Amazon

Dorman 095-142 Oil Drain Plug Gasket - Pack of 10

i think, just a wild rump roast guess, they will last a really long time if they are not over torqued. too tight will change the way they are designed to work. go figure.

i have some if you need them, 10 for $10, shipped.
