bushbasher
i want to strip a pair of doors to the shell and cut them down so you can lean out (like a scout II half door). Probably less work. If your doors don't get pinched when you are off-roading they are not going to do anything to strengthen the car, unless you mean crash protection
soobme
You know, I never thought about that, but your'e right!! The doors work fine, (ie: no load on them) every time I get out on the trail no matter how crossed up or tilted my car is (DUH!!!!) So I gess they must not give any structural support. :-\
Sweet82
I pulled the doors off my Hatch (along with the hood and rear hatch). Great way to see the country. Drove it for several months that way until I transferred the drive conponants to the Summer. Driving without doors is cool! I never noticed any structural problems Glenn, 82 Summer, 01 Forester,

Wasteland
I actually started working on a pair of half doors about a month ago. I've got the cut down size I want and am now working on an internal brace to stiffen them up. When they're done I should be able to use the bottom door panel and armrest. We'll see how it turns out. 84Scoobaroo
Soobme, if you made half doors, Or tube doors , that would definately be one of the first purchases I would make from TWB.
SubSandRail
Doors give you something to hide behind as your rig rolls over. Stumps and big branches in the passenger area really sucks. My rail has never had doors, and I have had to scoot over in the seat to avoid big branches that I did not want to meet up close. If you do get rid of the doors, spend $30 for a four-point harness (Tiger Claw, etc). All this safety stuff adds cost, but every time I walk away from a stunt gone wrong without injury, I am glad I spent the money & time.

MSSLGECKO
Just curious: (I'm broke) How much would you need to make a set of tube or half doors for an ea81, soobme? Also, does anyone have pictures of doorless- or half door-subarus?
