Mines broken, and has been broken.  Looking for a replacement.

 

 

Common break, my understanding is the door handle is the same, if someonme wants to correct me..

SuperBrat is correct, common and the door handles are the same.

 

You can also use a Gen 2 door handle but it is not quite a perfect fit.

There is a thread about a 1981 Brat in Rancho Cordova, CA in the Junkyard sightings forum that may have the part you need on it. I suggest a request to pay for the part, shipping and some extra for the "beverages while wrenching" fund and you may very well get your handle:

I Should have one on a parts car, that is if its not broken like everything else i go to look for on it.. Any tips on how to get it off?

I'm not to certain actually. I'm waiting for warmer days here to dig into mine.

yea... went to look at my Parts car.. and yet again came away astounded, previous owner got to it before it did.. seriously if i had known 2 years ago what to look for i would not have gotten this junker :)
