December 31, 201312 yr I have a '03 Subaru Legacy GT sedan. I Dislike Day time running lightsan dwould liek to disable them on this car. However I cna'tfinda fuse dedicated to this. Is there any way to accomplish this?
December 31, 201312 yr Not sure where your box is located on that model, but try looking between the passenger side shock tower and firewall. If you see a silver rectangular box that says "CAUTION-HOT", there will be a connector plug to it. All you need to do is disconnect this to disable the DRL. If its not there it will be inside the car behind the glove box. You will prob need to remove the glove box to get to it. Same thing applies tho, just unplug it.
December 31, 201312 yr Just bypass the E-brake handle switch to be "on" all the time. The brake light on the dash will be on, but the DRL's will be off.
December 31, 201312 yr I thought the hot metal item was the transmission dropping resistor... There's a DRL thread on site somewhere, a quick search will turn it up.
January 1, 201412 yr Oh man. Rob is the closest on this. Peek under the dash by the steering column. There should be a box with two plugs going into it, a black one and a white one. The side should say something along the lines of DRL system or Day Time Running Light Control, I can't quite remember. One of the two connectors needs to be unplugged for them to be disabled. Did this on my '04 Outback

Did this on my '04 Outback You were correct on my '03 just unplug the white connector to the black box next to the steering shaft! Easy peasy!
January 3, 201412 yr we have to unplug them when hunting as its ileagal to hunt in BC with lights on so we unplug the droping resistor on fire wall The big one not small trans one. And done very simple and can be hooked up when we get back to main road
