April 11, 201411 yr That thing is light years from when you started it.... I still owe you beer, or you can roll it over to Olympia when it runs and we can put a roll bar in it some nice 1.5" tube would look sexy in it. cheers
April 14, 201411 yr Author I actually have a plan for the roll cage and steel for it. But I could use a couple simple tube bumpers? This will be driving in the next month harness went in today heater and dash. Definitely plan to bring it over though. Cheers R.
April 18, 201411 yr Author Made progress interior is in and coming together electrical is working perfect just time to loom the last bit up. here is the point im at right now. cant wait to get the Lift made :-P Cheers R. Edited April 18, 201411 yr by subaruguru
April 18, 201411 yr Whoa! Rob, what the heck are you doing to the back end of that thing??? You putting a proper Brat bed on it?
April 20, 201411 yr Author Nope what you see is what is going to be there. The back of the car will be 37" from the back wall. Cheers R.
April 20, 201411 yr No bed or rear quarters??? You may have a structure issue if you don't add some kind of tube bed......and seal the exposed unibody cavities...... But it will be a bad mother wheeler fo sure.
April 20, 201411 yr You might need to add some weight in the back to help with traction.Put the battery and spare tire back there for starters. Its not so much about relative weight as it is weight balance. With nothing in the back you probally changed the weight balance from 60/40 to 75/25.With a weight balance like that the rear tires push the front end but as soon and the front end sinks in from the weight the rear tires just spin and you get stuck. My Tcased hatch felt the same way until I mounted the battery, spare tire, and my toolbox in the back of the car along with removing some weight from the front end with lightweight brackets.
April 21, 201411 yr Author It crossed my mind..... lol but no six wheel for this rig. Yea i was thinking about that i relocated the battery to the back over the rear sub frame and there will be a full size spare on a swing away rack. I also removed a lot of weight from the front the car is more balanced length wise the steel tubing for the rear boxed section should bring the weight to about right. Here is where i sit so far need to finish the diff hanger and the drivers side rear shock top, then it will roll after that there is the trans bracket driveline bracket.I have 15x9 toyota spoked wheels for it looking for tires. Cheers R.
April 22, 201411 yr Author As far as the running gear she is lifted the trans cross member will go in when the trans/driveline goes in lol. Cheers R
April 23, 201411 yr So I am wondering: Do you really need the front half of the fenders? Just remove everything forward of the front wheels centerline... Edited April 23, 201411 yr by Uberoo
April 23, 201411 yr Author Waiting for me to build the EJ Push button trans..... Getting rained out though :-( But stay tuned this driveway build will continue!!! Cheers R. Edited April 23, 201411 yr by subaruguru
April 30, 201411 yr The skittles subaru! there was a massive chevy around here that was called "skittles" because almost every part on it was a different color. The body was white, the rollbar was blue, the Tcase crossmember was yellow, the front shocks mounts were red...
May 1, 201411 yr So. Where are you going to bug out to? Cascade, Idaho? How far away from population is a place called Cascade, Idaho? This thread kinda seems like a moot point.
