August 15, 201411 yr So I bought some 14" pugs. The guy I bought them from had tires mounted on them and had used them on his old gl. The tires were bad so I had them taken off and noticed one had a gash along the edge and another one was a little warped. Do you guys think this will affect getting new tires and putting them on my gl? Both are in the inner part of the rim if that matters. Thanks. Danny Edited August 15, 201411 yr by dannycisneros
August 15, 201411 yr Take it to discount tire if you can, they'll be able to sell you. But from my experience, yes a bent rim will drive funny, but it was flattened, not curved
August 15, 201411 yr The gash looks like it is outside the bead area so it shouldn't matter. The bent "warped" rim I would at a minimum install on the rear of the car. They won't be able to balance it well with that.
August 16, 201411 yr What do you mean flattened not curved? I hit a curb in my miata, so from the side the rim wasn't a perfect curve, it was flat. Also ruined the lca and tie rod. Any chance you're willing to sell those if you end up buying something else? I only offroad so balancing is no issue
August 16, 201411 yr Do you possibly have any wheels you would trade? Good ol 13 inch 4x140s which I'm assuming are what you don't want
August 16, 201411 yr Author Do you have any pictures? After this I think I want to get a 6 lug conversion cause 4x140 is too hard to find good looking wheels.
August 17, 201411 yr Google alloy rim repair. There is a few places in Washington. The gouge can be filled and smoothed out. The bend can be straightened, but it's not for the novice to do.
August 17, 201411 yr Author Thanks I contacted someone but still considering to sell them and do a 6 lug conversion.
