February 9, 201511 yr I bought my house in Lyons, Colorado 15 years ago. This thing has been sitting in my neighbor's yard the whole time. Over the years I've become good friends with my neighbor and we talked on many occations about what to do with his old Jeeparu. Here's the story- some guy in the 80's had a brand new brat and serious welding skills. He rolled the brat when it was only a year old, so he built this thing around the wrecked brat drive train. He sold it to my neighbor who hunted coyotes with it on a ranch he lived at in Wyoming. Then it sat for a long time. This thing is nuts, somebody put a lot of time in this. However there were problems- The thing is unstable as hell and if you were doing any decent speed and slammed on the breaks it will somersault. don't know if it could even be made road legal. It sucks for mountain 4 wheeling, would only be good in the ranch setting it had been in prior. We talked a lot about what to do with this thing, we were originally talking about getting it running again and he was going to sell it, but he didn't want to sell it and then have someone pissed at him because it is sketchy as hell ., anyway I ended up pulling the engine today to use myself and I'm going to pull the trans for a spare, the rest is going to scrap, which both my neighbor and I have some ill feeling about doing, because of the amount of time and skill that went into this thing, plus he has some good time assiciated with the thing. But anyway, what else you gonna do? Here is a little slide show of pics I took of this thing, look at how short the wheelbase is, the front end was parked even with the red hatchback front, the first? pic you can see how far the hatchback extends beyond the jeeparu. there is also a pic of the rear driveshaft. February 9, 201511 yr Wow, what a funky ride. I think I know where you live oddly enough, I used to cruise around there and I'd always see this house with lots of subarus around it and always wanted to stop and BS. Coincidentally we might end up moving to the Lyons area in a couple of years for work. Either way...don't somersault the jeeparu!

February 9, 201511 yr Author we don't have barns! Its just one of those things, I have no use for it and neither does he anymore, and who wants this parked on their property? Like I said, i really do apreciate the time and skill that went into it, but damn! what do you do with it?

Some one should bolt a fold down BBQ to one side......then you can eat the fresh kill.....while waiting to kill more of them there varmits. February 9, 201511 yr I saw the hatch in your driveway when I was down in colorado. I stopped by just as it was getting dark after exploring some of the local trails in my dodge dakota. I wanted to stop by in the daytime and have a proper conversation with you about subarus but never got the chance.
