April 24, 201510 yr Hey everyone!, I bought the Loyale wagon off of caspice ???? and am thinking of putting in a cat back exhaust this weekend or the very near future. I was wondering what you are running or would suggest. Thinking of 2.5" cat back to a performance muffler with maybe a 3" output on muffler. Edited April 24, 201510 yr by firstsubi
April 24, 201510 yr I made an all stainless exhaust for mine. Used 2" after the y pipe. I did not do it for power gain, as it won't make a significant difference. I got tired of replacing expensive pipes with catalytic converters that would fail due to rust. And when I've had to work on something that requires exhaust removal, it is so much nicer to just unbolt stainless hardware. There's a link to my website about it somewhere in another thread.
April 24, 201510 yr Author Yeah defiantly using stainless.. Is 2.5" an alright size to use? I want a better sound not performance as that's asking way too much lol
April 24, 201510 yr 2.5 would just cost more. 2 is bigger than stock. I'm pretty sure that the muffler design will have more effect on the sound.
April 25, 201510 yr 2.5 inch is too big for a stock engine. I have a turbo and other work done and I run a 2.5 exhaust. The bigger diameter exhaust the deeper the tone. I had 2 inch when I was n/a and it worked just fine with a flowmaster.
April 25, 201510 yr 2" stainless with a stainless Magnaflow on all three of mine. Dan Magnaflow on my Brat. Nice sound without being too loud or "ricey". Eventually have the whole system converted to stainless.
April 26, 201510 yr I'm going 2.25 with a Thrush Welded. Kinda interested to see how the dual in dual out sounds.
April 26, 201510 yr Third Magnaflow 2" SS muffler owner. Been on my 87 Brat for many years. Sounds very good to me and like already mentioned, not super loud or raspy.
