My cousin called me...he works at a dealership (not Subaru)

They gave a kid $800 trade in for his 05 legacy GT

Young kid so he must have blown something....a rod...? the turbo? I don't know

So...I just got some pics...looks pretty clean--waiting to hear the mileage...automatic

I can have it for $800

supposedly has a new exhaust system

The caveat?  Its 2 hours away

Would have to get my AAA towing club to bring it to me

I really wish it was a plain 2.5 engine though.....getting one if needed would be a lot easier

Any thoughts guys?

It really looks sweet

What's to think? Grab it and flip it if nothing else ;)  That's a good paycheck for a day or two's worth of work!

Congrats!

Ask for a CarFax or Autocheck report.

Or get a prospective purchase inquiry from your local DMV. Find out if it has any title issues (salvage/rebuild).

if the engine threw a rod or the engine is toast, sell the parts or slap another engine in it and keep it or resell it. good luck!

yeah, that's a steal of a price. get it and figure out what you'll do with it later. Fix, flip, fix and flip, part it out, no downside. Looks like the body is solid.

You could also haul it via uhaul dolly.

If you use ANY type of dolly, Make sure you Disconnect the drive shaft from the rear end.

+1 on this.

Hauling it on a dolly and not disconnecting the drive shaft (AWD) will do damage, either that or a full blown trailer with all 4 tires on the trailer.
