customer wants to know if i can install seatbelts out of a newer  legacy in her car, anyone done this? im sure its easy but want some feedback before i spend her money

HI,

Read THIS.

Been done, not hard - cost depends on where you source the parts.

What part failed exactly? I may have some left-overs from my swap.

great find man!! the whole auto retract thing failed, complete failure, stuck half open

you should be able to manually crank the belt/buckle part into the upright/closed position, then unplug the control box in the rear of the car so it will not move again.  then it is simply a matter of unbuckling the belt to get in/out of the car.

the other half did this with his 90 sedan for more than a year - no extra work needed.

I remember in older posts some people said they would get the seatbelts from a Canadian vehicle (which did not have the auto belts) and use that. Many years had a lifetime warranty on the seatbelts but I don't think those years did.
