Hey peeps

I female friend of mine has some 16" rims from a 06 forester and wants to use in place of the 15's she has on the hatchback

It's risky investing in tires if not sure there will be an interference problem or not

 

Who might know something about this?

yes they fit.  sometimes that era impreza rear struts sag a lot and you get the droopy rear end - if that's bad enough you might have some light rubbing in the rear particularly if you load the car up.

 

but in general - there's no issue at all putting 16" Subaru 5x100 wheels on a 1997 Impreza, i've done it a ton of times.

195 55 16 should be equal to a stock 195 65 15. I didn't run a calculator but it should be close.

Uh...the '06 Forester will be a 215/60R-16 which is a 26.1" tire. The TIRES MAY rub the lower strut perch (the spring holder-upper).

 

But the wheels' bolt pattern is definitely the same so they would bolt-on, if there's clearance.
