Hello all, This is my first Subaru so I'm sure there is a lot I don't know. I search for the answer before posting so please forgive me if I missed it. When Car reaches 45 it makes a chirp or squeal sound just once. I purchesed this 2 m ago from a local used car dealer. I took it back to them and they diagnosed the serpentine belt as the problem. Problem has not changed. Any ideas?

Have you done a recording of the chirp, it may be more clear what it is.

try turning the a/c system OFF . and see if ou still have the problem.

(also, when you took it to the shop, did you take someone for a drive and demo the problem? is there any way you could do that?)

How long does the chirp last, I have an intermittent whistle/chirp from a window or windshield that lasts a couple of seconds but is so infrequent I can't locate it. There is also a muffler/baffle related chirp or whistle that occurs on older 02-06 Subes around that speed but usually during acceleration. Good luck w/ your hunting.
