Sealing Water Port for Weber

Featured Replies

ok i searched and found that GeneralDisorder used Permatex @ form a gasket to seal it, i tried that, didn't hold.

so i pulled it all back apart and used the rest of the tube of it and pushed it in with a tooth pick.

but if this doesn't hold what would you gues recomend me try, i was thinking JB weld, but i dunno about that.

Anyone???

Thanks,

Shean

I used a small piece of nylon screen and JB Weld. I used the sceen to create a nest for the JB Weld, and I applied two coats. It has held on two intakes so far with out any problems. Later, Tim

JB weld and I used some fine brass screen. Make sure to give the JB weld enough cure time and you should be good.

never mind GD, i was thinking of someone else.

but i got some JBweld and some other stuff that is putty, i put a bunch of the putty in, and it takes 15 minutes to harden fully, so im going to let it cure for about 30 minutes then do for a drive and see what happends.

also the car doesn't seem to have the same power, seems to have less thent he hitachi... guess i will be doing some tuning to change that because this does have the bigger venturies.

looks as if im going to have to get a book and Webers and do some reading.

ya i know that, but its even slower then the car was with the hitachi, and the DFV series has bigger venturies then the dam hitachi

anyways i took it got a drive, runs like absolute ****, when i dont engage the second barrel it runs just like it did with the hitachi, slow, then i punch it, it pops/backfires, and surges back and forward.

so i get it home FINALLY, refill the radiator since it was low, and im back trying to figure this crap out. this sucks, i need to go to work tomarrow and i now have no car, i dont trust it to drive 30 miles to work then 30 back.

THIS SUCKS!!!

out working on the car AGAIN

well i get home from work today, i cut my driving light wire and put on a female connector, and hook up the choke, turn the switch on and start up the car, let it warm up, and take it for a drive.

let me just say, i have never seen so much tire smoke from a subaru before.

i found a troubleshooting link on carbs.net and it was the dam choke, it would bogg down the motor ecause it wasnt opening all the way at wide open throttle.

i just cant wait to get a DGV series 32/36 with the bigger venturies, rather then this DFV 32/36. torque is your friend, treat it kindly.
